It’s time to tell our parliamentarians to STOP VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS, to abandon the policies that punish, and to adopt compassionate policies that protect asylum seekers:
- Permanent visas, not temporary protection visas
- Increase annual intake of refugees to at least 30,000
- Family reunion for refugees
- Greatly expanded refugee resettlement from transit countries in our region
- A fair legal process for all refugee claims
- Right to work and study for asylum seekers
- Close all offshore and onshore detention centres
- No deportations of asylum seekers
- Safe transport to Australia for refugees in the region
