Special community event – ‘STRONGER TOGETHER’ – Sunday 29 March (on Palm Sunday).

Join us to stand for justice, respect and kindness, and for communities in which everyone can feel safe and respected, including refugees and people seeking asylum.

This event is in the long tradition of calling for peace and social justice on Palm Sunday.

1pm:   Gather on Princes Bridge with banners and placards

1.30pm:   Walk to Lower Terrace, Birrarung Marr (near the ‘Angel’ sculpture)

2pm – 3.30pm:   Main program – speakers, music and stalls at Lower Terrace, Birrarung Marr

The event will affirm the strength of our multicultural and diverse communities.  As Australians who have come from many lands, let’s stand together with the First Australians to build communities in which all can live in peace and safety.  Everyone in Australia should be able to feel confident that they will be treated fairly, and that their human rights will be respected, by the government, and by other community members.  We want Australia to remain a welcoming place for all, and especially for those who come here to find safety.   We must not allow fear and division to tear at the rich fabric of our multicultural society.
