The fifth Human Rights Arts and Film Festival (HRAFF) opens on May 15th and runs for eleven days in Melbourne before crossing the country. It is a festival to showcase contemporary cinema, fine art and at the same time to inspire and engage.<\/p>\n

The festival features 15 Australian premieres and highlights 19 film programs including award-winning docos At Night They Dance<\/em>, Wrinkles<\/em> and Fantome Island<\/em>.<\/p>\n

For the Australian shorts program, a selection of eight Australian shorts are curated including Telegram Man<\/em>, a film that looks ino the impact of war on community and Carmen Rupe<\/em>, a story about the life and times of a transgendered icon.<\/p>\n

HRAFF encourages participation of new audiences. There will be film screenings with Q&As and special guests appearance for audience to engage with the panel discussion.<\/p>\n
